Most Brent Faiyaz type beats hover around 130 BPM, which balances energy and relaxation. Selecting G minor or similar minor keys helps to maintain the emotional tone. This tempo and key setting provide a foundation for the smooth guitar and vocal melodies that characterize his style.

3. Craft Smooth Guitar and Instrumental Layers

A defining feature of Brent Faiyaz type beats is the use of clean, warm guitar riffs. These should be simple but expressive, often with reverb and delay effects to add space. Complement the guitar with ambient pads, analog synths, and soft electric piano sounds to build a rich, textured background.

4. Design Subtle Drum Patterns

Drums in Brent Faiyaz beats are usually understated yet groovy. Use crisp hi-hats with light rolls, snappy snares, and deep but soft kicks. The rhythm should support the melody without overpowering it, maintaining the chilled atmosphere. Experiment with swing and ghost notes to add human feel.

5. Incorporate Vocal Samples or Hooks

While the beat itself is instrumental, Brent Faiyaz type beats often include ambient vocal samples or hooks that emulate his smooth vocals. You can add processed vocal chops or soft background harmonies that enhance the emotional tone, leaving space for an artist's vocals to shine.

Balance all elements carefully so the beat remains smooth and non-intrusive. Avoid over-compressing to retain dynamics. Emphasize midrange frequencies for the guitar and vocals, and keep the low end clean and controlled. The mix should feel intimate, as if inviting the listener into a personal story.
